Aquamassage, now offered at ForYourK9!  Utilizing massage in warm water is very beneficial for reducing muscle soreness and works well in conjunction with a swimming program.  And If your dog needs to learn to swim we are there to carefully teach your dog to do so only if willing.

Myotherapy, which literally means muscle therapy, is a method for relieving pain based on manipulation of trigger points in the body.  Incorporating Trigger Point Myotherapy can help relieve pain, swelling and stiffness, improve range of motion and flexibility, increase muscle tone, increase circulation and promote healing.  Canine massage is the application of hands-on techniques to restore and/or maintain a dog’s physical capabilities.  Massage can be used to help dogs relax, to reduce anxiety, to condition the canine athlete, to assist in recovery from injuries and to ease chronic pain.

Professional Massage and Myotherapy
Our massage therapists are certified in canine myotherapy and trained in Western and Eastern massage techniques. After an initial assessment, we will determine a personalized course of action for your dog.  In the case of injury, disease, or chronic conditions, we will consult with your veterinarian or canine chiropractor to verify an integrated approach to your dog’s care.  For more information, contact us at massage@caninemassagechicago.com.

In Home or Office
We offer massage services in your home or in a facility where your dog may be boarded, most massage services will be done at For Your K9 in Melrose Park, IL.  We also offer services at various Chicagoland locations.  First time sessions include a comprehensive evaluation during which we learn your dog’s medical history, perform an assessment of your dog’s gait and flexibility, and offer tips for in-home massage. First time sessions cost $80 and include a “How to Massage Your Dog” DVD.  Session costs from then on vary based on session length and the individual needs of the dog.  We offer in-home sessions with travel costs applied. Sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the dog.  We never work on a dog that doesn’t want to be touched.  Most dogs, however, are very happy and willing to receive this type of work.  Contact us at massage@caninemassagechicago.com if you are interested in setting up an appointment.  See our Locations pages for offices that provide our pet massage services.
